Cette oeuvre de 13min. fut commissionnée à Jérôme Langlois, par Romie de Guise-Langlois pour son Astral Artists Philadelphia solo récital début au "Trinity Center for Urban Life", le 20 janvier 2013.

This 13min. work by Jerome Langlois, was commissioned by Romie de Guise-Langlois for her Astral Artists Philadelphia solo recital début at the "Trinity Center for Urban Life", January 20th, 2013.

Quand j’ai commencé à composer cette oeuvre,
je me suis remémoré un moment très spécial:
« J’avais 30 ans, et j’étais dans les Bahamas
avec ma femme enceinte de ma fille Romie.
Les pieds dans le sable de Bimini, je jouais avec
ma clarinette toutes sortes de mélodies et d’effets
spéciaux vers le ventre de ma femme.
À notre grande surprise, nous avons été témoins
des réactions enthousiastes de Romie à ces improvisations! »
Je me suis inspiré de ce souvenir magique pour écrire
cette nouvelle composition, afin qu’aujourd’hui Romie,
devenue une artiste, puisse les jouer elle-même et voir si elle s’en souvient!?
Composer's note for « te souviens-tu? »
As I started composing this work,
a very precious souvenir surfaced in my mind:
« I was 30 years old, on vacation in the Bahamas,
with my wife, pregnant of my daughter Romie.
My feet in the sand of Bimini Island
playing with my clarinet towards my wife’s womb
all sorts of special effects and melodies,
we unmistakably noticed Romie’s
enthusiastic responses to the music. »
In writing this new music, I inspired myself with this magical moment,
so that Romie may, having become today an artist,
play herself these notes to see if she might remember.
« Te souviens-tu? » meaning « Do you remember? »
