I saw that you produced music for the series, "The Adventures of Albert & Sidney". Do you have any footage of the series? It's actually a currently lost dub of the popular Japanese anime series "Doraemon": https://lostmediawiki.com/The_Adventures_of_Albert_and_Sidney_(partially_found_English_dub_of_%22Doraemon%22_anime_series;_late_1980s-early_1990s) Any help would be greatly appreciated. J'ai vu que vous avez produit de la musique pour la série "The Adventures of Albert & Sidney". Avez-vous des images de la série? Il s'agit en fait d'un dub actuellement perdu de la populaire série animée japonaise "Doraemon". Toute aide serait grandement appréciée.

Hi, Thanks for the interest. All I would have is some old VHSs; I could search for them if you want. CINAR produced the series and CINAR's founder, Ron Weinberg is now in prison if my info is correct. Albert & Sydney was their 1st series, it was shown by Turner Broadcast, and I never received any author rights for the music. I tried to find out why but did not succeed. Several years later, I was taking a walk in New Carlisle , province of Quebec, Canada, and I saw several little statues of the characters of Albert & Sydney, even a fire hydrant turned into SuperCat!

Yes, please see if you can find the VHS tapes and have them digitized. That would be great if you still have them! I did know it was produced by CINAR, though I didn't know about its founder going to prison. Actually he's apparently out on parole now: https://montrealgazette.com/news/cinar-founder-ronald-weinberg-gets-full-parole-on-9-year-sentence That's a shame you weren't credited for your work. I'm planning on getting into the animation industry myself so I can imagine it's frustrating to make something and not be credited. At any rate, if you find any of the tapes please let me know. My e-mail is kjw21411@gmail.com

I was wondering, was the character's name spelled "Sydney" or "Sidney"? Your site shows the former but some other sources (including archived CINAR catalogs) show the latter. Also was "SuperCat" another name used for Doraemon/Albert? I found a picture of the hydrant you were talking about: https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-decorated-fire-hydrant-along-highway-132-in-the-town-of-new-carlisle-27374590.html

Hi! Thank's for the fire hydrant! I'm not sure about the spelling of Sydney. I found a VHS with just the 30sec song and1 min 15 sec of excerpts (that I do not have time to screen or digitalize at this point) , the IRS being after me because of my double nationality. In fact, I was born in Providence Rhode Island... I arrived in Canada at 10 in 1962, and became Canadian; and just since 2008, I am obliged to do US tax reports, even if I do absolutely no work in US. I was late for the 3520 form in 2017, and they just sent me two 10,000$ penalties... I am really not making any money at this point... Anyway, I was wondering why you are so interested in this series? Because of all the lawsuits against Ron Weinberg, I am hesitant to do anything with it....

You're welcome and thanks for responding again. I am a big fan of the Doraemon series in general and this old dub of the series actually never aired in the United States (nor Canada apparently). From what I know it only ever aired on CBC TV 8 in Barbados. So it's extremely hard to find and I would love to see it since it's an official English dub of the vintage series. I'm sorry to hear about your financial troubles and I understand your concern. Would it be possible for you to send the tape to me for digitizing? I'm willing to pay for shipping. Otherwise, I can wait until you have time to do something with it yourself. It would really mean a lot if you could provide the footage at some point.

Hello, I hope you are well. I thought, since it's been a couple months, I'd ask if you have any more time now to digitize that Albert & Sydney tape? If not, I'll wait and check back another time. Sorry did not get to it yet.

Hey Jerome, huge Doraemon and cartoonist. Out of curiosity, when you composed the song, is it a rock type song or did you try to make an English version of the original Japanese theme song? Also, have you ever even seen the show yourself? If so, any knowledge of the other characters' names? Also please tell me that you digitized the copy of the song. if not, I think I may have some buds that can help. We are big fans of Doraemon and want to put an end to the 15 year long mystery since it only aired in Barbados and a lot of kids grew up on it.

Thanks for commenting, Jerome. Another question I do have, that clip that has 1-minute and 12 seconds, does it have snippets of scenes from the show with the characters' talking or are there like parts of compositions that you did, or a little of both? And if your unable to digitize them yourself, maybe I can be of assistance? I often helped digitize master copies of cartoon shows for me and my friends tapes' from when we recorded TV shows back in the day. You can mail me the tapes (I'll happy pay for shipping) and I can send them to you back once I digitize them at my home studio. If you want, we can talk about that more if you have an email address I can send you more info about it. A kid from the UK, whose dad voiced Doraemon / Albert in a pitch pilot made for adults on MTV, did the same so I figured to ask.

Here's an idea Jerome. Why not play the tape on your TV and record the footage via your phone and just upload it to Twitter or YouTube? That way, people can at least get a glimpse of it. The guy who did the UK dub of Doraemon did it

It doesn't even have to be the whole thing. You can just record the 30-second theme song.
